David Green won the men’s race in 13:27:13, a course record that took 1.9% off the 13:42:54 set in 2025. Sarah Webster’s 14:27:34 broke the women’s record by far more, cutting 12.4% from the 16:30:35 set only a year earlier. Maryline Nakache was second among the women in 15:39:57, which was also inside the old mark.
With 357 finishers, this was the largest of 20 races at this distance held in the United Kingdom this year. It drew runners from 26 countries over a course with 3,871 metres of climbing.
The men’s podium behind Green was made of winners. Matthew Hammerton, second in 13:38:37, also finished inside the old record, and he had already won the South Downs Way 50 Mile Race earlier this year. Hugh Tibbs, third in 13:46:16, won the Arc of Attrition this year and two races in 2025, one of them the North Downs Way 50 Mile Race.
Women made up fewer than one in five finishers, 62 of the 357. Webster’s lead over the men behind the podium did not carry through the rest of the women’s field, whose middle sat well behind the men’s. The median woman finished in 26:29:49 and the median man in 24:42:38, so the women’s race was the faster one at the very front and the slower one through the pack.
The field slowed steadily with age. The oldest finishers had a median of 28:35:26, about 25% slower than the 22:57:29 of the quickest age group.
Every finisher came in under the 30:00:00 limit. The last man crossed in 29:50:58 and the last woman in 29:53:13, both with only minutes to spare after more than a day on the course.
