FinishInsight is an ultrarunning analytics tool. This page explains what we collect when you use the percentile calculator and the optional forms beneath your result.
Calculator inputs are used to compute and show your result. Survey answers help us improve the analysis and understand the ultrarunning population. Your email is used solely to send the monthly recap and occasional notices about new analyses.
We use Umami to count visits and see which pages get read. It does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device, and does not collect anything that identifies you. There is no cross-site tracking and nothing is shared with advertisers. That is why this site has no cookie banner.
Submissions are stored in a private database hosted on Microsoft Azure in the West Europe region. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing.
When you use the finish time tool we keep a record of the race you looked up and the figures you entered, including a recent result if you gave one. We use it to see which races people are researching, which shapes what we analyse and write about next.
That record holds no name, no email address, no IP address and nothing that links one lookup to another or to you. It is stored separately from email sign-ups and the two are never joined. Because nothing in it points back to a person, there is nothing we could find and delete on request, which is the trade-off for not asking you to identify yourself in the first place.
Survey answers and finish time lookups are kept indefinitely as anonymous statistics. They contain no name, email or anything else that identifies you, and they are stored separately from any email address, so the two cannot be linked back together.
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and are removed within 30 days of either.
The survey and email sign-up are entirely optional. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message we send. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, contact us at privacy@finishinsight.com.
