Ludovic Pommeret won Hardrock in 21:11:36, taking 21 minutes and 30 seconds off the course record. The record was his own, set in 2024, and the win was his third in a row. He was 50 on the day. The median winner of a hundred-mile race is 36, and 3.5% of them are 50 or over.
Courtney Dauwalter took the women’s race in 26:03:10 for her fourth win in five editions, finishing 12 minutes and 47 seconds outside Katie Schide’s course record from last year.
The men’s winner was 22.9% faster than the women’s. By the middle of the field that advantage had gone: the median woman finished in 41:35:18 and the median man in 42:03:36.
Hardrock is an old field even by hundred-mile standards, with a median finisher of 47 against 43 for hundred-milers generally. It is also a returning one. Only 64 of the 116 were finishing for the first time, and someone in the field completed their 18th Hardrock. Of the 52 who had run this course before, 13 beat their own best time on it.
Age told on this course. The 30s finished in a median of 37:36:39 and the 60+ in 47:16:58, 26% slower.
147 started and 116 finished inside the 48 hours, a 78.9% completion rate across 10,360 metres of climb. Fifteen of them came home in the final hour, and the last had five minutes and forty-seven seconds in hand.
