Hugh Tibbs won the men’s race in 13:03:59, a course record. The previous best was 13:58:47, set in 2023, and he improved on it by 6.5%. David Green finished second in 14:15:49. Sophie Seward won the women’s race in 18:25:32, 1 hour 6 minutes 49 seconds clear of Bonnie Rye in 19:32:21. Rye’s own lead over Hayley Langley, third in 19:44:23, was 12 minutes 2 seconds, so the winning margin was 5.6 times the gap behind it.
The two winners finished 41.0% apart. That gap belonged to the front of the race and did not survive into the middle of it. The median woman finished in 24:11:57 and the median man in 23:27:44, under an hour apart in a race where the winners had been separated by more than five.
The distance between the winners has been widening on this course. Across 2012 to 2018 the men’s and women’s winners were separated by 15.8%. Across 2019 to 2025 the figure was 26.6%.
The middle of the women’s field moved faster this year. Their median time of 24:11:57 was 3.8% quicker than at the previous edition, among 32 women in a field of 175 finishers drawn from 15 countries. The bulk of both races finished in the same hours of the second day, with the women’s pack running close to the men around it rather than trailing it.
The chart below sets finishing time against age across the whole field.
The last finisher came in at 27:50:17, inside the 28:00:00 limit. The last woman home finished in 27:50:08, so both races ran right up to the cutoff before they closed.
